Tired of your Sun dropping to the OBP after someone wiggles on the console
or keyboard cable? Dealing with it is no problem:
If you have an Enterprise server, turn the keyswitch towards the little padlock.
You can completely disable this so-called keyboard abort by putting the line KEYBOARD_ABORT=disable into the file /etc/default/kbd.
You can also toggle it non-permanently by executing kbd -a disable to turn it off and kbd -a enable to turn it back on.
Here's my little set of init script and runlevel links to set this up for you
in a nice and clean fashion through a pkgadd package. Tested on
Solaris 8 only so far. It should be version independent, though. Your feedback
is always welcome.
# Uncompress the install image:
gunzip nobreak-1.02.gz
# Installation:
pkgadd -d nobreak-1.02
# This will go into a postinstall
# script sometime in the future:
/etc/init.d/nobreak start
